whenever I hear Paul's A minor riff I can't help but think of Ides of March using it for ' Vehicle '

John took the simple A minor chord and turned it into a melody ( you have to wait for it's subtlety) but it's clearly there. Then Paul invents a quick bass melody from it. That's how great they were together 💕

Thanks Mike! Been playing this in D without a capo… Doh! (Learnt it for a lady friend called Julia last year…she was feeling down as someone left her.. only play at gigs when she’s in the audience..) Now l use your version.. with a capo… first time using one…and I’ve been on the road since 1970! Haha! Playing the C shape is so much better. Best clear lesson love seen … you’re the Boss!!

Nice! I got to meet Paul at a similar situation - you weren't at the NYC press conference were you? That's where I was and had been hired by the Friends of the Earth to take photos of the press conference and especially of Paul with the President of FOTE, which I did, along with photographing the 3 songs they did for the press. After the mini concert, I got rushed backstage to photograph Paul and the Pres. When I say "rushed" it was because I had put my flash down on top of my camera bag, and they wouldn't even allow me the time to pick it up! So, I found myself in a dark backstage area in front of Paul being expected to take photos. (I couldn't even talk; I was speechless.) Paul being the photographer that he is, saw my dilemma and said, "Do you want me to stand over there?" and he pointed to the umbrella light set up left by someone, which was about a dozen ft. or so away. I just nodded, and we moved over, and I took 2 photos of Paul & the Pres., which came out great. Whew! Later that night I got to go to the concert he held at a Broadway theater. Interesting you were in Tampa, since that's where I live now.
